Patrick Marchal

Born in Kortrijk in 1956. Started 1978 as a freelance art photographer travelling widely, exhibiting and publishing in Belgium, Italy, France, Germany and New York.

1984 became a multimedia artist. His works and projects include: The Maple Leaf Project, Canada; The Language of Food, New York; The Daylight Studio, New York and Tuscany; A Conversation Between 2 Televisions, Sahara Desert Algeria;
The Guggenheim Reflection, New York.

After living several years in New York he has now established a home base in Belgium.

Early spring 2007, he initiates the Patrick Marchal Art Gallery located in the 
"Galeries du Roi" in Brussels

Fall  2007, he starts his new fine art portrait studio, located in the historic center of Brussels. An eminently quiet and fascinating place where he intends to continue his work; mostly based on the cutting edges of traditional black & white photographic process, lighting techniques and a profound interest in human contact.
